Where to begin

So you've decided that you want to tune your 2015+ Audi A3, S3, VW GTI, Golf, Golf R, Sportwagen, or Alltrack....

Where do you start?

If you want the 'opensource' path, consider ordering a Tactrix cable and/or a Macchina A0.

Tuning Options

Tuning options below are broken down into broad categories. Each option has it's pros and cons, and this list is not exhaustive. They're in no particular order (though opensource is listed first because it's why we're here.)

As noted around on other pages, tuning revolves around 3 main activities. They are:

  1. Editing
  2. Flashing
  3. Logging

As with anything, there's the possibility of going with a hybrid approach. If you want to use some company's flasher while using free tools to edit and/or log... have at it.

Open source

Strictly speaking, open source means the source code is freely available. For our purposes we'll use it a little more broadly to also cover freely available software (freeware) that may not be open sourced.
